ViewQwest to start trials on 2Gbps Fiber Network
Singapore ISP ViewQwest will be the world's second residential fiber network that is offering a 2Gbps internet download speed. The 2Gbps internet speed will be available in the first half of 2015 and a handful of its customers will be able to test the 2Gbps before it goes public.
The first to roll out 2Gbps internet download speed is Japan's ISP So-net.
Although ViewQwest is not the biggest or cheapest ISP in the market, CEO Vignesa Moorthy admits that the company has the smallest user base in Singapore but they are always quick in rolling out interesting and new ideas for their customers. An example will be a built in VPN service which allows their customers to stream content from Netflix which is not yet open to Asia.
