iOS 8 was release on 17 September and one of the major changes is the widgets in Notification center.
Widgets allow you to see information from the notification screen and interact with it without opening the app.
To see which app can make use of Widget,
Go to “Today” of notification center
Press “Edit” and you can see a list of app available for widgets
Here are some examples of app which take advantage of this new function well.
Evernote is a note-taking app. By enabling it in widget, you can create text, take a picture and create reminders without even opening the app.
Dropbox is a cloud storage app. When enable as a widget, you acn see your files right off the notification center. This also enable you to track new files that were added recently.
Amazon’s book reading app which allows you to see the books you are reading and the progress you have made. Simple but effective.
4. Quick Tap
Quick tap is like a upgraded version of speed dial. It allows you to do specific actions straight from the notification center.
5. Buzz Feed
Allow you to view BuzzFeed’s content and you can even bookmarked interesting article.
A simple app to glace all your phone’s information at one place.
7. App in the Air
A great app for frequent business travelers. This app display info like flight number, duration and check in time in the widget which makes it easy to see.
Create your to-do list or upcoming due date and reminders. Display them right at your notification center so it can remind you.
9. ESPN Sports Center
Live update of scores and live radio to keep you updated on you notification center
10. Breaking News
Provide you with the latest news and happening around the world without having you to press the app.
