Aili Si, a pizza hut customer saw the words “Pink Fat Lady” written on her takeaway receipt at the Bukit Merah outlet on 12 October evening.
She wrote to the Pizza hut’s Facebook with the photo attached:
“I don’t think it is nice for your staff to describe me as such on my receipt…As a customer I definitely hope to be treated with basic respect deserved by any others. I hope to receive an apology from the staff and Pizza Hut.”
Pizza Hut has responded to her and launch an investigation.
“She expressed her understanding of the matter, which was a genuine error of judgement with no intent to offend, and has accepted our apology. We are grateful to her feedback and as a result, we are taking measures to improve our customer service standards,” said Juliana Lim, Pizza Hut Singapore’s senior marketing director.
Ms Si will not be pursuing the matter and hope that the public will not focus on the negative effect regarding obesity. She request that the people should be sympathetic as what an obese individual may be facing is not just on the surface.
