South Korea Coast Guard rushed to the scene and along with several fishing vessels, all people aboard were rescued from the partially submerged cruise ship.
There were 104 passengers and 5 crew members aboard.

MV Vacance has a carrying capacity of 355 passengers but lucky was only sailing with one third of its capacity. The accident occurred as Vacane had sailed too close to the island hitting on the submerged rock.
