Air Umbrella: Shielding rain with the force of air 


A team of Chinese designers are trying to reinvent the umbrella we use daily.
By using just a rod, the Air Umbrella can create a “force field” of air and keep yourself dry. 

The Air Umbrella contains a battery to power the motor which in turn draws air and create air flowing out from the tip of the rod. This air will then “push” away the incoming rain. 

This concept of using air to shield against the rain has been explored before in 2010 but it never made it to the market. 

The team is looking to raise funds via Kickstarter for the production of Air Umbrella and there will be 3 versions of the Air Umbrella produced.
